QUICSEAL 165
Acryl-Flex PU ECO
Description
Quicseal 165 is a liquid-applied, water based, single component polyurethane/acrylate hybrid membrane developed for high performance, long lasting waterproofing.
Uses
For commercial and residential internal/external wet areas, balconies, desks and other areas that will be tiled or otherwise protected from regular foot traffic. Not suitable for permanent immersed conditions. For conditions of permanent immersion, it is recommended that QUICSEAL 104 or 166 is used. For further information please contact QUICSEAL.
- Waterproofing of Rooftops
- Waterproofing of Balconies and Terraces
- Waterproofing of Wet Areas (under-tile) in Bathrooms, Balconies, Kitchens, etc
- Waterproofing of Flowerbeds and Planter Boxes
- Waterproofing and protection of concrete constructions like Bridge-decks, tunnels, ect
Advantages
- Tough flexible film.
- Long shelf life.
- Can be tiled over – good adhesion with QUICSEAL tile adhesives
- Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates
- Eg: Concrete, render & screed, particle boards & fiber-cement sheets (wet grades only): structural plywood (PAA branded) or marine grade or other wet area grade only.
- Fast drying.
- Class III Membrane, as per AS/NZS 4858 Wet Area Membranes.
Surface Preparation
Careful surface preparation is essential for optimum finish and durability.
The surface needs to be clean, dry and sound, free of any contamination that may affect the adhesion of the membrane.
Concrete and renders/screeds must be cured for minimum 28 days and 7 days respectively and wet concrete/screed must be allowed to dry thoroughly or sealed with one coat of QUICSEAL 119 at coverage rate of 3.0m2 per litre and allowed to cure overnight.
Application
QUICSEAL 165 should be thoroughly mixed to a uniform mix and ensure the coating ia applier evenly at recommended coverrage rates. Apply by brush or roller. A medium nap (8 - 12mm pile) or 50mm long bristle paint brush is recommended.
Reinforce membranne with QUICSEAL 718 at problem areas like wall-floor connection, piper, etc.
Recoat time is 1 – 2 hours between first and second coats. Drying time on flat surfaces under standard conditions is 4 hours. However, dry through time slowest in areas where QUICSEAL 165 is applied over neutral cure silicone bond breaker, or is reinforced. Check that these areas are dry before tiling. In some cases, this can vary from 24 hours to 48 hours.
